Samson:
last week we had a CSCCA and absolutely massive conference where all strength coaches get together, ⁓ you know, and basically it’s one big meathead fest, but it’s always exciting. It’s always fun. It’s always very enjoyable.
What’s going on Samson Strength Coach collective listeners on today’s episode. It’ll be a solo episode. Everybody’s favorite not okay. But today we will be covering the CSCCA recap. Okay. So obviously last week we had a CSCCA and absolutely massive conference where all strength coaches get together, ⁓ you know, and basically it’s one big meathead fest, but it’s always exciting. It’s always fun. It’s always very enjoyable. And so
I got to go down this year. didn’t make it out last year, so it’s fantastic to go down this year and I’m kind of just going to walk you through the full week. Talk about a couple different things that we saw a couple different things that were. Exciting and then you know a little teaser here. We had a big competition. We’ll certainly going to talk about that one and we’re not going to ask what my time was OK ⁓ and then we’ll kind of go through a little bit of a wrap up and just talk about some other highlights. So without further ado, I flew into ⁓ Fort Worth on.
Sunday must have been Sunday night. ⁓ You know, like any good podcast host does after they’ve done setting up the booth. So I didn’t have to do any manual labor, which was fantastic. And I just got to, you know, enjoy the fruits of the labor, which was going out and having dinner with the Samson guys after that. Went to the house afterwards got connected with everybody. And this is a fun fact. ⁓ I get to meet Brian for the first time.
I’ve met Scott and personally a couple different times I’ve talked to Brian over the phone, but I’ve never met Brian before in person. So it’s fantastic to meet Brian. You can definitely tell that he and Scott are brothers. There’s ⁓ no doubt about that whatsoever. You know, and for good reasons to write because they’re both very friendly, both very welcoming. And you know, certainly made me feel at home to be a part of Samson. And you know, I’ve been hosting the podcast for a couple years now. But it’s really fun to be a part of a company that makes you feel like that, right? Because
I’m in a satellite office, just like I am with my own workspace that I am here. I’m in a satellite weight room. I’m in a satellite office. Most of my interactions with all of Samson is almost completely online. So to be able to meet everybody in person was fantastic. You know, got to see the half strength father, Chris corporate in you know, he this weekend, we referred to him as the sales guy. ⁓ But I refer to him as half strength father. And this is just a funny side bit. So
His Instagram handle, former podcast guest, if you remember, Chris Corpur, his ⁓ Instagram handle is Full Strength Father. Well, to be a Full Strength Father to me, feel like you gotta show full strength. And so the first year that I was there at CSCCA, ⁓ we went to the early morning workout on day two. It was 6 a.m. Full Strength Father promised that he would be there.
Where was he? Crickets. It was just me, Andy and Dexter. so, you know, full strength father, possibly, possibly not, you know, who knows, whatever. Jury’s still out. Okay. And so then this past year, we go down and we’re, getting ready, you know, for the first day of the show and ⁓ full strength father rears his head again and unfortunately got sick. so
I hate to say this and you he’s certainly going to reach out to me after this podcast, but I half string father is the official term, at least when CSCCA comes around. You know, I don’t get to see him at other times. I’ve heard he’s a pretty cool guy. I’ve heard he’s pretty hardworking. I’ve seen videos of it, but in person, I’m, you know, I’m kind of confused a little bit. So just a little side bit for you. And if you do want to set up a Samsung weight room, please reach out to Chris corporate. He’s actually fantastic when I’m not ribbing him. Okay.
And I got to meet Sergio for the first time, one of the best installers I’ve ever seen in person and the break. Well, obviously it’s a lot. Okay. I didn’t see the install cause I came in after the work was done. I got to see the breakdown and he absolutely crushed it. ⁓ Andy, the marketing director, Dexter, the absolute animal. like to call him famous Dex ⁓ and just the rest of the guys. was fantastic to see everybody and get to see everybody in person and meet, meet a couple of new faces. ⁓ And so.
We go through, have dinner the first night, know, no, it’s going to be a long day the next day. So we go by and set up, you know, for essentially the 4pm rush when everybody gets led into the exhibit hall. And I go up to, ⁓ the merch area that we have. So this is before anybody’s come in. Okay. and I saw the T-shirts and I immediately said, give me every single one in my size. Okay. two X by the way, in case you haven’t figured it out by this point that I’m rather large. Okay. And so.
These t-shirts were absolutely incredible. Like I’m telling you, this was the best work I’ve seen, you know, certainly from Samson, but I would also say from any weightlifting t-shirt, I’m willing to put down the hammer on that one. I really am. Because it was the old school design. ⁓ You know, they had three separate shirts. So the first one was the old school Samson design. ⁓ And then the next one was obviously to pick Samson. ⁓ And then the next one was a Samson equipment on the front logo.
And ⁓ then a, what was it? Death Row Records on the back, but it’s Strength Row Records, okay? Pretty damn cool. All right, I’m just gonna go out there and say that. And then the last one was a ⁓ old script Samson equipment shirt. So I get all three of these immediately, cause I’m a little bit of a hog. And so I had no problem with rearing my ugly head in that moment and taking all the shirts for myself immediately, cause they’re fantastic.
probably exclusively worn those besides App State year every single day since I’ve been at the conference as well too. If I could have worn it to the wedding I went to afterwards, I would have. And I’m pretty sure actually, you I do remember now after we were done with the wedding, you know, festivities and we went out to ⁓ for a nightcap with the rest of the wedding group, I put my Samson shirt right back on. So absolutely.
So absolutely fantastic shirts. ⁓ And it’s not just me who says this, okay? I’ll treat you listeners as the essentially recruiting pitches that I give everybody. I don’t make promises I can’t keep. I’m not gonna tell you things that aren’t true. And Andy got feedback, I got feedback, ⁓ and the rest of Samson got feedback that those shirts were the best shirts of the conference.
and some of the best strength shirts they’ve ever seen. A couple of rounds of applause for that one. I posted them on my story and I had about 15 people swipe up ⁓ and immediately say, save me one. Save myself some, okay? Cause again, I’m greedy and I’m not a share. ⁓ And so absolutely fantastic year. We also had a lot of really cool things like the Frost buddies, water bottles, hats, a lot of really cool stuff. ⁓ And I bring this stuff up because it’s really cool just to see what Samson’s investing into.
you know, raising awareness of this company because at the base level, Samson is the best weight room equipment company I’ve ever worked with. They have the best equipment you could possibly ask for. It will last forever. I mean, I could say that again, I just said it in my recruiting speeches, I don’t tell lies. Okay. And so it’s so cool to see the on the marketing side.
putting in the exact same energy, right? And then receiving the feedback that it was as good as I thought it was and as good as everybody else thought it was. I think it was within an hour and a half that we ran out of the shirts. ⁓ And you know, these are shirts that people will actually wear. Cause I’ve, all strength coaches have been to conferences before, picked up a couple of shirts, got greedy. And then all of sudden they’re not wearing these things ever again. These shirts are certainly something that people will be wearing again. And we’re really, really high level quality, heavy tees. I forgot to mention that part too.
Heavy tease, okay? So you really couldn’t ask for much better. And you know, just a little teaser. I heard that possibly at some point there might be a merch store where you can get your own. I don’t know. Okay, I don’t know. Sometimes I have inside info, sometimes I don’t. And so I will say this, this is probably the best part of CSCCA every single year is getting to see your friends, right? Getting to see other coaches. ⁓ Scott and Brian getting to see coaches that worked with their parents and then it worked with them. ⁓
you know, Andy, our marketing director, probably one of the most plugged in people I’ve ever seen. Everybody loves Andy, which is, you know, going to be a new spinoff of everybody loves Raymond. But again, I love this conference because I get to see coaches that I probably would never have an opportunity to see again ⁓ if it were not for this conference, right? Just because we’re friends, you know, but it’s tough. We might live on the other side of the country. You know, we might not be able to see each other as much as we’d like, especially within this profession. You have very limited and very rare time off.
And so it’s awesome to see that. so seeing old faces, right? And seeing people come in who have, ⁓ you know, been associated with Samson or, you know, been a fan of Samson for a long time. It was fantastic to see them. Right. And then what I thought was really cool about this year too, is we saw a lot of new faces. We had a lot of new people stop by the booth that were, ⁓ you know, younger coaches or coaches who are, you know, just starting to associate with Samson now, maybe the marketing, maybe just finding out that it’s actually the best way or equipment you can possibly get.
Who knows? Okay. But it was fantastic to see new people. And so what’s exciting about that, right, is now you think, okay, CSCCA is moving to Milwaukee next year. And then we’re going to go, I think it’s Milwaukee, like three years in a row. And so at Milwaukee, we’ll get to meet new coaches again, but then those new faces now become old faces. Okay. And it just keeps building upon itself. And we just keep getting to meet coaches who are, you know, really fantastic to work with great human beings, which is kind of the essential piece of coaching, right. But people that I want to see again.
And so it was really great to connect with people and see them again and watch them become old faces and watch new faces next year become old faces again, which I hope you’re able to stick along with me. I hope that wasn’t too confusing. You know, it was also really good for me to meet for a podcast guest to write in person. Like I’ve met, shoot, I’ve been, you know, hosted the show for probably a hundred episodes now. And so I’ve met a lot of coaches virtually, but I also met a lot of really cool people.
you know, for the first time in person, like Jess Givens came by. Jess Givens is one of my favorite episodes. You know, it was absolutely fantastic to see her and then I got to meet her staff, right, which is like kind of like, hey, I get to meet your family, the people you spend all your time with. George Neaf stopped by. I love George. He reminds me so much of one of my other friends and I actually connected those two and I got to meet his brother, right. And so it’s just really cool because, know, CSCCA, a lot of people joke, it’s like, it’s a chance to go out and get beers with your friends, right, whatever.
But ultimately it’s really cool because there’s a chance to see everybody and then get to meet their own people too. And so I get to meet people who are extensions of them and people who they enjoy spending time with and it’s really enjoyable experience overall. ⁓ So that was fantastic. And that was kind of the, you know, initial ⁓ opening of the first day of the exhibition hall. And then afterwards, Samson once again crushed it on the, ⁓ you know, marketing side ⁓ ended up doing party buses and shuttles down to the stockyards.
So we got to meet even more coaches through that got to bring people down to the stockyards and go to the social with team builder and Hawkin dynamics And so it was fantastic to see that, you know come to fruition and then you know What was really cool afterwards to like I don’t brag about being a VIP guy. Okay, I don’t ever brag about it, but I will talk about it and so
I got to hang out on the party bus with the rest of the guys. had, you know, a bunch of beers and we had a fantastic time and just hung around and really got to meet other coaches and then spend time as a group together too. Because again, I’m on the virtual side over here. I really don’t do that much in-person interaction. So being able to be with everybody else and spend that time together has been absolutely fantastic. And so all these marketing things, by the way that I’m saying, I’m hearing rumors or murmurs that those things will happen again next year. Okay. So be on the lookout for those too. But finally,
All right, we get to the big competition. So our competition this year was a Samson hold. All right. And so for the men’s division, it was a full cable stack. So 250 pounds. I might get corrected by this, but I believe Scott said it’s a true 125, right? Cause it’s a two to one ratio with the fat grip rotating handles. So, you know, when Andy and Chris and whoever else worked on this idea, we’re coming up with it. You know, they were really in their bag with the deviousness of how we can operate this. Okay.
And so it’s again fat grip handles rotating and then full cable stack for the men. It was a half cable stack for the women. And so the challenge was obviously, you know, we’ll go out, we’ll pull out the handles to you. You hold onto the hold as long as you possibly can. And then you just let go. All right. And so it was a really, really cool experience. You know, at the end of the day, I’m going to actually look this up so I get the number a hundred percent correct. Okay. And you’re going to hear my phone knocking down in the background, which is going to be super annoying. Okay.
66 competitors came up, or 66 competitors. And so what was funny is, you know, we first started out and it was hard to kind of get people to get involved with it, right? You know, it was the early born workout. So I think a couple people were just looking to get a workout in, not necessarily do the challenge, but as the exhibition hall, you know, kept filling up, ultimately more people stopped by. And then what was the really, really cool part of it was that everybody stopped and watched and cheered each other up. You know, I don’t know if you guys have ever been in a room full of coaches. Obviously you haven’t been to the conference, but.
everybody’s gonna coach each other and everybody’s gonna support each other. And so there’s a brotherhood and sisterhood to strength and conditioning and a kinship. And you got to see that in full force. And so we had two winners and I got to talk about the full process of kind of how we accumulated the winner. So ⁓ my good friend, Patrick Brooks, friend of the program, I’m sure he would love to hear that, ⁓ say that, ⁓ ended up working with us at the booth and was one of the ones pulling the cables out. I was one of the ones pulling the cables out too. So again, sometimes I get my hands dirty and I don’t have a problem with it.
And so we’d pull the cables out, get set, and everybody just holds on as long as they possibly can. And so with the first couple of competitors, I mean, I’m one of the first competitors. Again, we’re not going to talk about my time, but it wasn’t good. I’d probably be in the bottom 60. And so we got a couple of people to test it out. We kind of ran through exactly how we want to operate it. And then we started to see times that we thought were really good, right? So somebody, Pat’s GA.
ended up coming up and put it out 49 seconds. And I was like, dang, all right, we already got the winner, right? Foolish me. Very foolish to me. And so again, we saw the times increase and kind of go up and it was really exciting to see. Now this is for the men’s side specifically, because I’m to get to the women’s side and talk about that with faith, all right, because faith is an absolute monster and crushed it. And so as we kind of kept progressing through, you know, we had more people come by and then we had this mountain of a man. I don’t think there’s any way other to describe him.
Thomas Evans, okay, if you’re familiar with him, you know, he’s an absolute strong man, looks like the mountain, okay? ⁓ And we’d kind of come by and take a peek and then move along, right? And then come by and check it out again and then move along. And so finally we got him to get up, right? Because he was waiting for the perfect time.
And when we got him up to actually compete, I knew it was serious business. And I knew he was a true strongman because he chalked the back of his hands. Okay. And so it’s like one of those moments where, you know, this may not be necessarily an appropriate analogy, but you get in a fight with somebody and they immediately get into a fighter stance and you’re like, ⁓ I get it now. Okay. You know, I’m in trouble now. So when, when Thomas Evans chalked the back of his hands, and I mean, it looked like he just shoved both his hands directly into the chalk bowl. I knew we were going to have a problem because
the only people who ever chalked their entire hands are people who know what’s up, okay? Or they’re gonna drop like three seconds, you know? So it’s either gonna be the best time or the worst time. And I, by the looks of this man, had a feeling it was gonna be the best time, okay? So Thomas Evans goes up and just absolutely drops a hammer, all right? Absolutely crushes it. I’m pulling up his time right now. Thomas Evans was at 1.10 and 0.51, okay? So one minute, 10 seconds, 0.51 seconds, okay?
absolutely crushes it. And I mean, that was like one of the highest ones that we saw that day. And so I was like, all right, it’s over. You know, I think this was around 12 o’clock that we saw him actually do it. You know, so was very exciting to see. ⁓ And everybody again, coached him up and was super excited and stoked for him. ⁓ And it was essentially, in my opinion, the competition was over. Right? You know, we had a couple other guys come close. ⁓ You know, we had ⁓
What was his name? Alexander Bloodworth go at one minute and three seconds. Nate Warnock got 57 seconds, you know, and then Matt Wendelberger got 55.2 seconds. And so, you know, it was really exciting to see these people put up some serious numbers. But again, who’s going to beat the mountain? Nobody. Or so we thought. Or so we thought. So, you know, honestly, this is a good lesson for us next time. We kind of called it at like 258.
Right. We said, all right, it’s time we’re done. You competition’s one. Uh, and again, I will touch on the women’s side. I promise you that, but this, the men’s side had a little bit more of a dramatic ending. And so we call it, uh, Andy hands out the check. We take the pictures, you know, everybody’s excited. It’s one giant check. Uh, you know, like the kind you can’t cash. Okay. At a, uh, bank and ultimately everybody’s excited for Thomas Evans. Everybody says it’s great. And then a challenger enters the ring. Chris Fetland.
Bowling Green State University, BGSU, comes up and says, I was in the bathroom and it’s 3pm on the dot right now. I should have the opportunity to compete. Little awkward, right? We just handed out the belt to Thomas Evans. What are we going to do about this? Okay. And so we decide, you know, what’s the best course of action? Trying to think through it. And then Thomas Evans speaks up and said, no, let them compete. Dog. That’s why I love it, man.
That’s why I love strength and conditioning, right? Cause if you want to win something, you want to win it by merit. And you know what? It’s always exciting to see how strength and conditioning coaches treat each other. They want to compete. They want to know that if I did something, I truly did it the best and it wasn’t on some technicality, right? There wasn’t some small rule that ultimately saved me or anything like that. And so it’s three o’clock on the dot. That’s where we’re ending the competition. And Chris Fetelin steps up and takes a…
absolutely wild approach might I add. Okay, stiff legs, arms directly out, which was something we recommended against for everybody. And the clock started ticking. And it kept going. Got to 45 seconds, 50, 55 minute. When I look at Chris, and Chris is not moving. You you usually start to see and I was right there, you know, hands on for everything. Usually start to see what somebody’s gonna, you know, essentially have to drop the stacks. ⁓ They start shaking. And so they’re, you know, sitting there.
And then they drop it. Okay. And Chris is literally the most stoic man I’ve ever seen in my life. Standing straight up, holding onto the stacks as hard as he possibly can. Then we get to a minute five. All of a sudden we get past a minute seven, or sorry, a minute 10. And Chris Fetland has won. It’s a final time of one minute and 18 seconds. no. A challenger steps up and beats the original winner. What do we do?
Right. And then this is again, why I love straightening conditioning so much. Thomas and Chris, you know, both basically clap hands, you know, say this was a fantastic time. We really appreciate it. ⁓ And then Chris gets the belt and then they end up splitting the money. Right. And so it was really exciting to see that process. It was really exciting to see the kind of brotherhood aspect of it. All right. And so it was very, very cool experience. And I love the Samson hold now to the women’s side. All right. So we had a couple of initial competitors. We were trying to get a couple of people by
And to the female’s credit, you know, there was not a single adjustment of anything besides the weight. We kept the exact same fat grip handles, you know, and truly the way to beat the challenge is by having massive hands. So pick your parents better. And so we had a couple of competitors come up, a couple of people try it. And then we had Faith Brown come up. And I’m telling you this, Faith, if you’re listening to this, we had, and you can tell everybody this is true, a five minute conversation about you doing this challenge, a five minute conversation.
you know, because I knew you’d do well. Okay. And we went back and forth and back and forth and back and forth. And you were nervous and you know, faith was like, I don’t know if I should do it. There’s a couple other challenges. I want to go out there. You know, what can I, you know, what am I ultimately gonna put down? You know, should I wait till later? Everything, every single thing in the book. And then finally we get faith up there. In faith. I mean, again, right, we find out on the men’s side that, you know, certain times are good, but there’s going to be continually beat.
And I think there’s a certain level too, as well, like, okay, I gotta beat 45 seconds, I can hold on for 50, right? We’ve all seen different external markers like that, help people actually ⁓ achieve their goal. so, gets up and she doesn’t really have a time to beat right now. ⁓ And so Faith holds on as long as she possibly can. Anybody wanna guess the time? One minute, 16 seconds. Literally two seconds behind Chris, and then six seconds ahead of Thomas.
What the hell was that? And seriously, so she goes out, drops this time and I was like, are the women just, know, cause obviously, you know, with the female anatomy, you’re be better at some endurance tasks. Okay. That’s just the truth of it. But I didn’t know what to expect for the rest of the day. And so it almost worked to the opposite effect, right? Where I swear faith got in the minds of other female competitors. And you know, they would ask me like, what was the highest hunt? And because I wanted people still to compete and try to get out there, I was like, you know, just over a minute, you know, just over a minute.
Keep in mind, we’re 25 % over a minute, which is not just. And so I’m trying to get people to compete and they’re getting nervous just by hearing Faith’s own timing. And so I think she really did herself a favor by ended up doing it earlier. And so ultimately I’m trying to go back down and look at who the next female would be. Brutemesso with 47 seconds. Okay, so we are looking at a difference of almost 30 seconds in between those two times. So absolute domination by Faith.
All right. And I bring up the women’s side second because there was no drama to this. There was no last second competitor. There was no old Western kind of standoff, right? It was just Faith who just came out there and absolutely dominated. So Dr. Faith Brown, congratulations on your win. It was very exciting to see it happen. And then, you know, I believe she won a couple other competitions during that time too. And so it was funny too, cause she was like, can I get the check? You know, can I bring it home? And we’re like, yeah, I don’t know how you get on the plane. She’s like, I’ll figure it out. And so.
It was cool to see that it was cool to kind of get the final pictures and faith was there to witness the men’s division you know kind of scariness that went down or the Suspense I guess is a better word and then we got pictures of Chris and faith and Thomas in there too. So Overall really really exciting challenge really cool to see so here’s here’s what I loved about it, too Is that again?
We’ve got people who have been friends with Samson for a long time. We’ve got people who are now discovering Samson and want to work with us. And so ultimately, I can’t say it enough. I say it so many times over and over and over again. Samson has the best equipment, the best from a durability standpoint, from a functionality standpoint, from everything that you want out of your weight room equipment, they have the best. And so now we have an actual challenge where people get to come up and put their hands on our equipment. Right. And put hands, I say ours, you know, I didn’t have a single lick and design any of this.
let’s be clear, all right? But they get to put their hands on the SAMSHA equipment, right? And they get to feel what the equipment actually feels like in the high quality steel, all the things that go into making the ultimate weight room equipment company. And it’s really, really cool to watch people say, hey, I love those grips, by the way, you know, right? Or, man, I can really feel the quality. I literally heard that. That’s not a, you know, this is not like a pitch or anything like that. I literally heard that statement. I love the quality, okay, of the equipment. And then what was really cool too is, you know, we told people just let the stacks go at the end.
right? You’re gonna get flown basically one way or the other. If you try to like, you know, let one slip and then hold onto the other. If you try to control it down, don’t worry about it, right? And every single competitor was like, what are you talking about? It’s gonna mess up the stacks, right? It’s gonna end up hurting, you know, the actual equipment. No, it won’t. No, it won’t. Because if your equipment is high value, if your equipment is really, really well built, it won’t mess it up. And so one coach actually specifically said to me, you know, I yell at my athletes all the time for dropping the stacks. I said, and you should, if you don’t have Samson equipment.
And so it was really cool again to watch people come in, get introduced to the equipment and then get to see, you know, a full example of it. And then some people had a really great time because they both won a thousand dollars a piece. All right. Exciting. Okay. And, you know, I will just say, you know, we put out this challenge. It was absolutely fantastic idea. I thought it worked really well. And all of we see it popping up on other, you know, exercise equipment stuff. Other people are trying out the challenge too, you know? And again, I think Samson does a fantastic job. They set the standard from
equipment quality standpoint. So now we’re setting the standard from a challenge standpoint, too. And I love to see it. All right. And so it was really, really great to be a part of it again. And then, you know, we just finished up the challenge, get to meet a lot of brand new people, get a lot of future podcast guests that I’m really excited to come on. And then finally, I had to do just a little bit of dirty work, okay, which was me breaking down. And by me breaking down, I mean, me standing idly in the back, while the real men and women did the actual work. Okay.
So broke down the booth, got everything packed up, and then had a fantastic meal after that. And, you know, keep in mind, I basically did jiu-jitsu with full strength father for most of the time. So I really didn’t do much of the work, but had a fantastic dinner afterwards at Terry Black’s. I slept for hours upon hours afterwards. And then, you know, immediately the next day got up and went to a wedding. And so it was a crazy week for me, but a fantastic week for Samson, a fantastic time at CSCCA.
And so if you’ve been a listener for a long time, you know how this goes. If I do a solo episode, I really have to shout out everybody at Samson. Okay. Because what an amazing company to work with. Seriously. I mean, again, all my interactions have been virtual, you know, but like on the small things, right? I texted Andy right before this, just checking on something with the podcast equipment and say, you know, can we do this? Gets back to me probably before I even sent the text, right? Anytime I need help from Dexter on anything, he immediately
gets back to me immediately helps me out helps me sound better. Right? You know, I’m probably a little sick this week. So probably a couple things he had to edit out of this podcast. And, ⁓ you know, the the marketing intern, which I believe you got your name right, Kalia. Okay, please do not kill me if that’s wrong. All right. But you know, they do a fantastic work with representing the, ⁓ you know, marketing side, you know, getting to meet Sergio, who was a really, really high level person to work with. ⁓ And just watching, you know,
his passion of former detective who’s now in the exercise field. think it’s really cool to see. And then obviously seeing Chris and then meeting Brian and Scott, you know, obviously I met Scott previously, but meeting Brian in person for the first time, seeing Scott again, like it’s just such an awesome company and seriously. And so if you, you know, are now listening to the podcast for the first time, cause you saw us at CSCCA and you know, you want to get involved or if you’re interested in using any type of Samson equipment, this is my final pitch to you. You got to do it. Okay.
It’s just going to be extremely high level. It’s going to be the finest equipment you can possibly get built by the finest people you can meet doing the finest process they possibly can. Okay. It’s going to run incredibly smoothly because when you call the company, you call to the owners, right? You talk to Brian or Scott, right? You talk to these people who really care about watching you develop, right? And watching you develop a weight room and whatever it may be, whatever your specific needs are. ⁓ And so it’s just really fantastic to see these people all get in person.
you know, it’s always a great reminder for me. know how fantastic it is to work with Samson, but to actually see it work out, actually see people who really care about the field and really care about high quality products, be able to work in the field, right? And so Samson, obviously we had the legacy episodes earlier this year, but had, you know, celebrated 50 years, which is almost impossible to do. And so watching Samson have the staying power, the lasting power that they do is really, really exciting. And
Again, I can’t recommend them enough. You know, it’s just a fantastic company to work with, with fantastic people. You’re going to hear me say the word fantastic maybe five more times, right? Because there’s no other word to describe it. So I appreciate everything that they do for me. You know, it’s been really fantastic to host the podcast and be a part of it. And I appreciate everything that they do for the people they work with, right? And it’s intent listening. It’s people who want to get the job done right. And we’ll, you know, basically having to sacrifice an arm and a leg, go head over heels, whatever it is.
to help you get the job done right. And so I really appreciate being associated with a company like that. I really appreciate it because I get recruiting pitch. I don’t tell lies. Okay. When I’m recruiting somebody, if I’m trying to sell somebody on something, it’s like a personal thing. I cannot lie to you. All right. And so that’s how you know, I’m being 100 % genuine when I say this. And that’s how it’s awesome to when people reach out to me and say, Hey, can I work with Samson? You know, can you connect me with somebody there? I say, absolutely, because this is gonna be one of the best decisions you can possibly make. So
you know, again, I appreciate everything that they’ve done for me. And I appreciate the opportunity to go to CSCCA and see all my friends. And I appreciate all the new people who came up to the booth, all the old people who came up to the booth. And I’m excited to see everybody as we kind of continually go along with CSCCA. So I appreciate it all, you know, I just see a cool experience. It’s very cool to be a part of. It was really cool to meet everybody, you know, who I haven’t met before, just, you know, kind of get brought further into the fold. It was very exciting for me. And so
That’s why I wanted to do the CSCCA recap episode. You know, so it was just very, very enjoyable. And again, you know, possibly, possibly a merch site coming up for the t-shirts. Okay. You know, who knows? We haven’t talked about that, but teasing it just a little bit. Okay. So if you want to get some of the best shirts possible, you know, to reach out to me, you know, or you know, to reach out to Andy and we’ll have some cool stuff coming along. And I will say finally, you know, if you are a new listener, if you just, you know, met with Samson the first time,
got signed up for the podcast, please keep listening, man. Cause some of the podcast episodes we have coming up are absolutely incredible. ⁓ Getting to meet all these fantastic coaches and hearing their individual stories is amazing. That was kind of my pitch to everybody was, you everybody has unique experiences. A lot of people program the same. A lot of people have worked similar jobs, right? But everybody has unique experiences and everybody has their own unique description of, know, what their challenges they faced are and how they’ve overcame them. so
please keep listening because it’s a really fun podcast to host. get to meet amazing coaches and I really love being a part of it. And so please, you know, understand that we are bringing in the best guests we possibly can. People are going to help you learn and people are going to help you continue to grow. Okay. Then the final piece, I will say, it was very cool to meet the listeners, right? We had five or six coaches.
Separately come up to me and just say hey, I’m a huge fan of the podcast you know they really specifically mentioned to that they love the Goal of the podcast which is not to talk to the biggest names who have told the same story over and over again to talk to the coaches who are up and coming to talk to the coaches who people may not have heard of because those are typically the ones with the best experience to share ⁓ So it’s awesome to see you listeners. It was fantastic to meet with you I really appreciate it and please continue to listen and so I will finish it off and I will just say
Thank you to everybody. Thank you for letting me be a part of this. I really appreciate it. And I’m excited for the episodes that are coming up.
