About Samson Equipment Inc.
In July of 1976 Samson Weight Training Equipment, Inc. was founded in Las Cruces, New Mexico with a $2000.00 investment by Dave and Linda Schroeder.
Dave had been recruited from San Diego, CA to play football for New Mexico State University in 1965.
After receiving his B.S. Degree in Secondary Education he began his teaching and coaching career in the Las Cruces area.
He coached football, track & field, and wrestling at the Jr. High, High School, and College levels.
Linda received her B.S. in 1971 and M.A. in 1973 from New Mexico State University.
She was employed by New Mexico State University as Assistant Natatorium Manager, Head Women’s Swim Coach, Head Women’s Gymnastics Coach, Head Women’s Field Hockey Coach, and Physical Education Faculty.
She remained with New Mexico State University until 1990.
During the Schroeder’s early days of teaching and coaching, Dave and Linda were incorporating weight training into their athletic team training.
They saw a tremendous need for heavy duty, durable, and affordable weight training equipment designed specifically for school use.
Thus began the beginning of Samson Equipment.
The name Samson was chosen specifically to refer to the strength and durability of the equipment.
The logo was also designed to stand for strength, durability and heavy duty equipment.
Scott Schroeder serves as the Director of Sales at Samson Equipment, a family-owned business based in Las Cruces, New Mexico, that specializes in professional weight room facilities and custom strength equipment.

Role & Responsibilities
In his role as Director of Sales, Scott leads Samson’s sales efforts both domestically and internationally. He works closely with educational institutions, athletic departments, and facility planners to understand needs, design solutions, and deliver weight room projects from conception through completion. His position involves strategy, client relations, product knowledge, and ensuring that Samson’s standards of customization, quality, and service are maintained in every sales engagement.
Organization & Team
Scott is part of the Schroeder family leadership group at Samson, working alongside Director of Operations Brian Schroeder and a team of dedicated professionals. As Sales Director, he interacts with other internal teams including Marketing, Engineering, and Customer Service to bring product designs to fruition.

As a former collegiate strength and conditioning coach himself, he uses his personal knowledge as well as 22 years in the industry to provide the very best in customer service experience for Samson Equipment's clients.
I’m the Production Manager at Samson Equipment, where I lead day-to-day operations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and keeping things running smoothly. With over 10 years of experience in logistics, transportation, and production management, I enjoy solving problems, improving processes, and helping teams perform at their best.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked across a variety of roles in supply chain and operations, always aiming to bring structure, clarity, and results to the table. I believe in leading by example and finding smart, practical ways to get the job done right.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active, writing, and playing music. I live in New Mexico with my wife, our black labradoodle Trucker, and we love spending time outdoors.
